Quick links: During the first Summer Institute in Cognitive Science held at UQAM, more than 150 participants from Canada and around the world were brought together to discuss the topic of categorization.
Inspired by this success, and in line with its teaching and research objectives, the Cognitive Science Institute will be holding its second Summer Institute from June 28th to July 8th, 2008.
The topic will be social cognition, to be understood in its psychological and community aspects. It will bring together at UQAM researchers with international recognition. The Institute aims at learning and sharing ideas as well as promoting networking for future research and cooperation.
Located in the heart of Montreal, the Summer Institute venue provides a multicultural context rich with its old world charm, in a thoroughly modern setting.

All conferences, with the exception of Daniel C. Dennett's opening conference, will take place at the following address:

La première École d’été de l’Institut des sciences cognitives (ISC) de l’Université du Québec à Montréal a réuni plus de 150 participants locaux et internationaux autour du thème de la catégorisation.Fort de cette réussite et conscient de sa mission double de formation et de recherche, l’ISC organise sa deuxième École d’été, qui aura lieu du 28 juin au 6 juillet 2008. L’École d’été 2008 portera sur la cognition sociale, conçue tant dans ses dimensions psychologiques que communautaires. Elle réunira à l'UQAM des chercheurs de renommée internationale dans le domaine et offrira ainsi une excellente occasion de formation mais aussi de réseautage en vue de recherches et d’études futures.
L’École d’été se tiendra au coeur de Montréal, ville cosmopolite et multiculturelle alliant le charme et l’atmosphère du vieux continent, dans un style de vie résolument moderne !
