Title: Cooperators are worse off being mobile Selin Kesebir Abstract: Previous research has shown that residentially stable communities have lower crime rates and members of these communities exhibit more pro-community behaviors. Using agent-based modeling, we tested whether this association between residential stability and stronger pro-community action may be adaptive. Simulating multiple neighborhoods with cooperating and non-cooperating individuals, we found that as they become more mobile, cooperators do worse in both relative and absolute terms.
