Tourism

Established in 1642, Montreal has become the largest bilingual city in North America and still offers a European flavour. Visitors enjoy dining in reputed restaurants or friendly cafés, and shopping in huge department stores or charming boutiques. The city's architecture mixes old and new, from Old Montreal where one can ride in a calèche among stone walls to downtown's skyscrapers built of glass and steel. The downtown area is located between the St Lawrence River and Mount Royal, where a superb park allows one to stretch one's legs and to admire the impressive cityscape from several scenic lookouts. A cultural city, Montreal offers world-class museums and quality entertainment every night of the week.
