he De Seve Multimedia Lab is part of the Communications Department of UQAM (Université du Québec à Montréal), focusing on research as well as multimedia development and more recently, the Internet. Since its beginning in 1988, the Lab has had the mission to explore the influence of computers on working methodologies and communicative qualities of newly augmented media.

The main areas of work are hypermedia, multimedia, interactivity, networks and formation. With its many productions the Lab has developed diversified expertise in the field of new technologies.

Our main project is presently MythologY, an interactive encyclopedia of Greek and Roman Mythology. Multimedia is used here as an easy way of managing enormous quantity information on a given subject.

Our team and electronic equipment are presently financed by the Sucession J.A De Seve as well as the SSHRC (Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada )
