AAMR-QUEBEC

Quebec Chapter of the
American Association on Mental Retardation

Since 1876, AAMR has been providing leadership in the field of mental retardation.

AAMR is the oldest and largest interdisciplinary organization of professionals (and others) concerned about mental retardation and related disabilities. Over 9,500 members in the U.S., Canada, and 54 other countries have chosen AAMR as their association.

AAMR's Mission :

AAMR's mission is to advance the knowledge and skills of professionals in the field of mental retardation by exchanging information and ideas;

AAMR strives to:

Enhance the life opportunities of people with mental retardation and their families;
Promote public policies, research, and services which advance individual choices and human rights;
Develop human resources and leadership in the field;
Promote high quality services and supports that enable full community inclusion and participation;
Promote research and its dissemination and application;
Advance progressive public policies.

The AAMR-QUEBEC is the Quebec (Canada) Chapter of the American Association on Mental Retardation, which is an association of professionals interested in the issues pertaining to mental retardation.

To join our chapter you must join AAMR. Once you have joined the AAMR, you will automatically become a member of AAMR-QUEBEC, if you reside in the province of Quebec. If you don't reside in the province of Quebec, but still wish to become a member of our chapter - that would be very flattering.
