My research

My research interests lie at the intersection of population/community ecology and multivariate analyses, including spatially-explicit species models using Geo-statistical analysis. My main research goal is to understand how environmental stress and environmental variability (either from stochastic environmental events or climate change) affect the patterns of community and population dynamics along a habitat specialization gradient (from habitat generalists to specialists) in a set of local communities in a fragmented landscape (metacommunity). I have been using data sets of long term observational studies of microcosms and fish species and lab based experimental data of microcosms to understand temporal and spatial pattern of species distribution and patterns of diversity of generalists and specialists in the response of environmental variability in a fragmented landscape.
